I am a registered psychologist with AHPRA in Australia and HPCSA in South Africa. I hold a masters degree in counselling psychology and have 15 years experience in providing therapy in various contexts in Australia and South Africa.

Experience

I am trained in several evidence-based approaches. I have have been exposed to a large amount of research and training in the field of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and continue to deepen my knowledge in this area. I also have been trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma informed Person-Centred Counselling and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

I have experience in dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, identity and self-esteem issues, sexual abuse, autism (neurodiversity affirming), LGBTIQA+ affirming, cultural diversity and chronic health conditions (HIV and cancer).

In Australia I have worked with clients referred by medicare, work cover, NDIS, private health and DVA/Open Arms, Queensland health PHN and in aged care. I have worked at group practices as well as in an NGO/charity.

In South Africa I have worked in private practice as well as at a university counselling centre consulting with students and training intern psychologists for over 10 years. I have also worked in corporate HIV testing programmes and at a high school in the role of a psychologist.

I have worked with population groups that vary across culture, race, socio-economic status, gender diversity, ability/disability, neurodiversity (ASD/ADHD).
I have a special interest in assisting with processing the social trauma experienced by people who have experienced social exclusion in areas such as neurodiversity, gender identity, culture, disability, race.

I currently work with adults and older teens who are able to consent independently to their own therapy

I keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the field by regularly attending workshops and seminars and academic theory presentations. I am a full member of APS
